Position Opening for Tenured Full-time Faculty
The Department of English, Meiji Gakuin University

Position: Associate Professor or Lecturer in English Poetry and British Culture

Courses to teach: English poetry and British culture, as well as English language 
                  courses.

Number of Positions: one. 

Commencement of Employment: April 1, 2008.

Place of Work: Meiji Gakuin University at Shirokane (Tokyo) and Yokohama 

Qualifications: 
1. Ph.D. in a field related to English poetry and/or British culture. 
2. In view of the age structure of the current full-time faculty members in the 
   Department, preference will be given to those applicants aged 40 years or under.
3. Native speaker of English or Japanese.  For native speakers of English, sufficient 
   Japanese proficiency is required for general administrative tasks and other 
   activities. 
4. A good understanding of Christianity. Meiji Gakuin University is a Christian 
   institution.

2. A list of publications.
3. Three major publications (photocopy is acceptable) with an abstract of one 
   letter-size page for each.
