Call for Papers

 The 75th Annual Conference of the ELSJ will be held at Seikei University on 24-25 May 2003. The guideline for those members who wish to present papers are as follows:

1.  Any member of the Society may submit a paper proposal (the annual membership fee of \7,000 should be paid prior to the time of submission), which is to include the following: six copies of a synopsis of the proposal, six copies of a shorter version of the synopsis, six copies of a short statement concerning the member's academic background, status, and current address (plus tel/fax/e-mail address). Photocopies are acceptable.
 The longer version of the synopsis--typed on "A4"(21X30cm) or 8 1/2"X 11" paper--should be approximately 1,500 words and will be used for screening by the committee. The shorter version, also typed on "A4" paper, should be approximately 150 words in length. Upon acceptance of the proposal, the shorter version will be prlnted in an information booklet and distributed, together with a copy of the program, to society members about one month in advance of the Conference.
 The deadline for receipt of synopses and short statement is the end of October.
2.  Screening of proposals and allocation of dates and rooms will be carried out by the Organizing Committee. Members who have submitted proposals will be informed of the Committee's decision approximately one month following the deadline given above.
3.  Particlpants are allotted 30 minutes to present their papers and additional 10 minutes to respond to questions from the audience.
